Why are we doing this?
Over the past few years, Microsoft has been improving its architecture to better support PHP on Windows. Understanding the capabilities of PHP on Windows will give PHP developers an advantage when designing a system that uses the Windows operating system. PHP developers can use the technology they are already familiar with, which is PHP, and take advantage of a proven, stable platform, the Windows operating system, IIS and SQL Server.
Furthermore, now PHP developers can better design systems that integrate multiple technologies (i.e. Linux and Windows), enhanced existing systems that uses SQL Server to the web with PHP, use PHP and offer Microsoft's robust media delivery technology such Silverlight, and easily combine ASP.NET with PHP technology when needed.
What is this about?
PHPAcade.my offers online training course on PHP on Windows. The course will take you through a series of lessons that demonstrates the application of PHP on Windows platform. You start off by building your PHP on Windows web platform by installing and enabling services such as PHP, IIS7, .NET Framework and SQL Server. Later on through the course, you will learn how to properly use PHP with SQL Server, managing media with PHP and other interesting projects.
The course includes training materials, demos, hands-on labs and certification exams to help you understand how to build PHP applications using Windows. The entire course is provided completely online over a scheduled 2 weeks, during which, you may revisit any of the contents at any time.
Developed originally by Microsoft, the course contents were modified to adapt to the presentation of PHPAcade.my.
Who are we?
PHPAcade.my is a joint collaboration between the PHP User Group of Malaysia (PHP.net.my), Microsoft and the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC). The facility is maintained by PHP.net.my.
